An excavator on a trailer struck an overpass on U.S. Highway 2 west of Fairchild Air Force Base on Monday, Aug. 15. According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred about 3 p.m. and the excavator was knocked off the trailer and came to rest on its side, blocking the highway. Traffic was detoured onto Dover and Brooks Road, the patrol said. The highway reopened by 6:15 p.m. No other information was available at press time....
