Oct. 31, 1940 - April 29, 2022
James (Jim) Richard Morasch, 81, passed away peacefully, with family at this side, on April 29, 2022 following a stroke. Jim was born in Endicott, Wash. on Oct. 31, 1940 to parents Clarence and Naomi (Cook) Morasch.
After his graduation from Spangle High School, Jim served in the United States Navy on the USS Constellation. He married Sharon O'Donnell in 1967 and together they raised three children, who he supported in a long career working with the local telephone company as a splicer.
Jim loved his family. He is survived by Sharon as well as children Angela, Richard, Heather; grandchildren James, Blake, Sarah, Alissa, and Rebecca; and brother Alan and sister Carol.
A long-time resident of Medical Lake, Jim was a known as a great neighbor and someone always willing to lend a hand. Over the years he could often be seen walking his beloved German Shorthaired Pointer hunting dogs, most recently "Lady," up the local hills in the early morning hours. Whether hunting deer, elk, and turkey, fishing on local lakes, or camping at Koocanusa and Priest Lake, Jim was known as an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time with family and friends in the beautiful mountains, forests, waterways, and sunshine of Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
A service honoring Jim's life will be held at Veteran's Cemetery in Medical Lake on Friday May 6th at 10:30 AM. Gathering will follow (masks strongly recommended please) at St. Ann's Hall in Medical Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Eastlake Child Care Center, PO Box 200, Medical Lake, WA 99022 (EIN 91-1637267) are welcomed.
