CHENEY – The Eagles dug themselves an early double-digit hole and could not dig their way out in a 67–58 loss to Sacramento State on Reese Court Saturday, Feb. 26.
Eastern was ice cold out of the box, shooting 33% from the floor and trailed 22–9 at the end of the first quarter.
But the Eagles heated up in the second quarter to get within five points, 37–32 at the half.
The Hornets drained the first six points of the third quarter to widen the gap to double-digits, 43–32. A 14–10 Eastern run kept the Eagles in it, 53–46, heading into the final quarter, giving the home crowd hope.
