Blackhawks Lose Conference Game Against Gonzaga Prep

CHENEY – The Cheney Blackhawks hosted the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups in a home conference game. The girls took the court first and had a rough time getting any offense going throughout the evening and only managed just 32 points for the night. The lady Blackhawks fall to 3-9 on the season.

The boys the court and had an incredibly competitive first quarter and came into the second with a 15 to 15 tie. But a series of turnovers in the second quarter let the Bullpups score 29 points to take a commanding lead heading into half-time. Gonzaga Prep continued to keep their foot on the gas in the second half and the Blackhawks couldn't steal the momentum back. While the Blackhawks did have an active fourth quarter the deficit was just too large to overcome.

The Bullpups' Jayden Stevenson lead the charge with 22 points on the night while the Blackhawks' Evan Stinson, sophomore, guard/forward and Alex Hinrichs, junior, guard posted strong performances in the loss.
