MEDICAL LAKE — If you see some crazy outfits being sported around town, it’s because Spirit Week is underway at the high school this week, with

This year’s theme is “Dancing Through the Decades,” school officials said, noting onlookers may see students dressing up in styles from previous decades.

On Wednesday, students were to go “back in time” to the 1980s for “Rock versus Neon” day. Students dressed up like their favorite ‘80s rock stars and sport neon hair and clothing.

The Homecoming bonfire was also scheduled for 7 p.m. on the lower baseball field

Activities continue Thursday with a ‘90s-style dress up day, “Grunge versus Clueless.”

Public Spirit Week activities end Friday.

At school, students will be wearing their Cardinal spirit gear, officials said. There will also be a lip-sync battle at a planned pep assembly.

Friday’s festivities wrap up with football at 7 p.m. and the crowning of Homecoming royalty. See related story.

The annual Homecoming dance is set for Saturday night.

The festivities got underway last Friday, Oct. 15, when students decorated high school halls.

They continued Monday, Oct. 18, with the 1950s-styled “Pink Ladies versus T-Birds” day, in a nod to the hit-movie “Grease.”

Tuesday was “Hippie versus Disco” day; students dressed in styles from the ‘60s and ‘70s, from clog shoes to bell bottom jeans.
