Interstate 90 on ramp at Geiger closed

Eastbound onramp closing for four weeks, tentatively reopening Sept. 1

SPOKANE – Drivers who use the loop on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 90 at the Geiger/Grove Road interchange, will need to find alternate routes during an upcoming four-week closure of the loop on-ramp.

The loop on-ramp closure to eastbound I-90 began Wednesday, Aug. 4, and continues through Wednesday, Sept. 1. This allows contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to extend the length of the on-ramp connection to eastbound I-90.

During the loop on-ramp closure, drivers will detour south on Grove Road to the roundabout on the south side of I-90 to access the eastbound direct on-ramp to I-90.

Work is part of the I-90 Geiger interchange improvement project that includes the construction of three new roundabouts and a shared-use path.
