Cheney recycling center closes for weekend
CHENEY – The city recycling center will be closed Saturday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
The recycling center is located at 100 Anderson Road.
It will reopen on its normal schedule Tuesday.
Hours are 8-11 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
City Council races set for Malden
MALDEN – The Aug. 3 primary will feature two City Council elections here that drew more than two candidates.
Incumbent Scott Hokonson will face challengers Scott Shauf and Kelly Adams for his City Council Position No. 1 seat.
And for the Position No. 3 seat, John Lenz will face off with Janell Turner and Collen Cross.
Dan Harwood won the seat in the 2017 election and is running for mayor against Bradley Harrison.
The Top 2 candidates advance to the Nov. 2 general election.
