Lucas Tyler Ruiz

2004 – 2021

Lucas Tyler Ruiz, 16, was born in Wenatchee, Wash. Oct. 1, 2004. He passed in Spokane at Sacred Heart Feb. 15, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Lucas was tragically struck by a vehicle while crossing the road Feb. 6 and passed Feb. 15. He fought for many days until he could no longer.

He is survived by his Mom Erika, Dad John and his siblings, Austin, Quintin, Haiden and Keyana, Aunts, Uncles, many cousins, Great-Grandma Joyce, Grandma Gloria, and Grandma Pam. He is preceded in death by Great-Grandpa Lenard and Grandpa John.

Lucas had so much light and spirit that shown brightly every time he smiled. His smile could lighten up every moment. So much so, that you would forget exactly why you were upset, which he would use in his favor with his parents.

He enjoyed football and wrestling growing up. With wrestling becoming the prominent sport, he named one of his moves the burrito wrap and tap. He was a goofy loving person that was willing to help when ever needed.

You could always find Lucas up for any adventure, climbing and jumping off whatever he could, going on long hikes and swimming every summer for as long as possible. He enjoyed working out and made sure to show off his muscles. He was proud of having his first job and getting a pay check. With his quick mouth and sarcasm, you would laugh even when you shouldn't.

He will forever be missed and loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on June 5 2021, at the Heights Church 12703 W. 14th Ave., Airway Heights, WA 99001.

We would like to thank all the first responders that helped our son upon arrival, along with the whole Neuro ICU staff that worked tirelessly on Lucas at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Please watch your surroundings while driving.
