Two arrested in Grove shooting

CHENEY — Two Spokane residents have been arrested after they were involved in a drive-by shooting incident at The Grove apartment complex last Wednesday evening.

According to police, officers responded to a report of shots at the complex at just after midnight April 7. According to witnesses, a male and female suspect later identified as 24-year-old Damian C. Dunigan and 21-year-old Alisa R. Boston were together at a small party in one of the units but were asked to leave.

After leaving, Dunigan stood in the parking lot outside the unit and pointed a gun at the victim who was standing in the breezeway outside the apartment. A single shot was fired, but did not hit the victim.

Dunigan and Boston then got into a vehicle and fled the scene, firing 4-6 additional shots as they left. Cheney spokesman Sgt. Nate Conley said the two were subsequently arrested by the Spokane County SWAT Team at their residence on the 6800 block of Post Street in North Spokane.

“There is no indication that the suspects are EWU students, and it’s unknown if the victim or other party guests are students,” Conley added.

Dunigan was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, drive by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm. Boston was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and drive by shooting.
