CHENEY

Feb. 8

A wallet, identification and credit/debit cards were found on the 600 block of West 1st Street.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 600 block of Marcella Avenue. Clothing, sunglasses, backpack, tools, cash and a dash camera were reported taken from a vehicle.

Child abuse/neglect was reported at an undisclosed location in Spokane. Report referred to Child Protective Services.

Feb. 9

A welfare check was conducted on the 300 block of Erie Street. Report was referred to Adult Protective Services.

Margaret P. Johnson, 48, was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 2200 block of 1st Street.

Child abuse/neglect was reported on the 10500 block of West Richland Road. Report referred to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Feb. 10

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1800 block of 1st Street. The lock on a dumpster was cut.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1800 block of 1st Street. A vehicle tire was slashed.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 100 block of Alki Street. Dash cameras were taken from a vehicle.

A mental health issue was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. Subject was involuntarily committed.

Feb. 11

A vehicle prowl was reported on the 100 block of Blackhawk Lane. Vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was reported missing.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 1900 block of 1st Street. Two vehicle tires were slashed.

Feb. 12

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of D Street. A wallet with ID and debit cards were taken from a vehicle.

A vehicle prowl was reported on the 200 block of F Street. Vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was reported missing.

Police assisted Spokane County Sheriff’s Office with a stolen vehicle/suspect armed with a knife incident on the 10000 block of State Route 904 in Four Lakes. Suspect, 44-year-old Pearl Shamara, was taken into custody after ramming a vehicle stolen from a car dealership in Spokane into the gas pumps at the convenience store, threatening to light the pumps on fire and then attempting to escape initial custody by stealing a Cheney police vehicle.

Feb. 13

A rape was reported at an undisclosed location in Cheney.

A vehicle prowl was reported on the 200 block of Betz Road. Vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was reported missing.

Mitchell W. Blakely, 34, was arrested for driving under the influence and third-degree driving while license suspended on the 300 block of West 2nd Street.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Cedar Street. Sunglasses and clothing were reported taken from a vehicle.

Feb. 14

Second-degree assault was reported on the 1200 block of 1st Street.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 1600 block of 1st Street.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 100 block of Blackhawk Lane. A watch, shoes, sunglasses, clothing and a massager were reported taken from a vehicle.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 1100 block of Oakland Street. A wallet with ID and debit cards was reported taken from a vehicle.

Alec D. Watts was arrested at West 10th Avenue and South Salish Court for obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Lance S. Thomas was arrested on the 200 block of South Hayford Road for third-degree driving while license suspended.

Gregory K. Packard was arrested on the 1600 block of South Lyons Road for fourth-degree assault /domestic violence.
