Cheney Congregational Church
We will be hosting a drive-in Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in our church parking lot. The service will be broadcasted to your car radio, so you can participate from the warmth and safety of your own car. We will sing carols, hear a Christmas story, and light candles. A live stream of this service will also be provided, which you can request a link to on our website.
With the social isolation of this season, we are organizing groups of no more than five people outside your household to gather around a fire outside to chat and get to know each other. If you would like to be a part of our “fireside chats” during this season, then email pastor Matt Goodale at mattgoodale.ccc@gmail.com.
We continue to host live Sunday morning services on Zoom at 10 a.m. You can request a Zoom link through our website, www.cheneycongregational.org.
These are difficult times for many of us. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Emmanuel Lutheran Church
Merry Christmas from Emmanuel Lutheran Church! Although we cannot worship together as a congregation, we invite the West Plains community to access our website emmanuelcheney.org. You will find our Christmas Eve and weekly worship materials including sermons. Zoom fellowship is held on Sundays. If you should need pastoral support during this difficult time, please contact pastor Arianna Arends at 509-954-5886.
Emmanuel plans to gather for worship services two weeks after Spokane County opens Phase 3. Updates will be provided should plans change.
Our Free Community Pantry remains open to the community and all are invited to take what they need and leave what they can. Donations of non-perishable food and personal care items for all ages are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support of this important ministry to our neighbors in need.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Rev. Kathryn Lamphere, our vicar, will preach and preside, offering Holy Eucharist. Because of the pandemic, the service will be an abbreviated version but includes all the necessary prayers, beginning every Sunday morning at 11 a.m. The congregation will receive the bread but no wine at this time.
All safety and sanitizing measures will be strictly observed, in particular wearing masks and keeping social distancing. All are welcome.
The memorial service in honor of our deceased priest, Rev. Christine Soule, is postponed, and will be rescheduled later, to be held at St. John’s Cathedral. We will keep you informed.
For your contemplation: “Now on this Christmas send to us your angels to sing again their songs of peace and good will. Let us respond by loving all creation. For all of life is sacred. Yes, all life is sacred.” Rodney Romney
United Methodist Church
Merry Christmas from the United Methodist Church. Our Christmas Eve service will be available online or with an at home worship guide to enjoy any time during this Christmas season. Light a candle and worship with us as we celebrate Jesus’s birth.
We will join virtually in Sunday worship with Manito UMC for a service of lessons and carols while our pastors enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Our annual Christmas cantata is an amazing virtual experience and is also available on line for all to enjoy.
For those not accessing online services, worship guides can be downloaded from the church website www.cheneyumc.org. You may also contact pastor Alissa Bertsch at 509-879-2278 if you would like be added to our mailing list for a hard copy.
