SPOKANE – The County Library District is offering programs and events for kids, tweens and teens in October that are slightly spooky, mysterious and strange.

According to a Sept. 29 news release, kids in grades 6–12 are invited to the “Whodunit Costume Ball Mystery.” Participants try to solve the puzzles and crack the codes to figure out the whodunit and discover the mystery of the ball.

Costumes are encouraged – getting into a sleuthing character can help to solve the virtual mystery. Registration is required, and you’ll need email to receive login information.

Sign up for one of three events at scld.org/costume-ball

• Friday, Oct 16, 7 – 8:30 p.m.

• Saturday, Oct 24, 2 – 3:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, Oct 27, 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Teens and adults can show off their trivia expertise about the hit TV show “Stranger Things.” The release of season four is delayed until spring, but the Library District is still getting ready with a celebration of everything dark and slimy in the 1980s small town of Hawkins.

Discuss your favorite middle schoolers — Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Max and Eleven — and show off your knowledge of The Upside Down. Virtual Trivia: Stranger Days takes place Friday, Oct. 23, from 7 – 8 p.m.

Registration is required, and you’ll need email to receive login information. You can sign up at the district’s webpage under the Virtual-trivia link.

Finally, the district is featuring slightly spooky stories while creating uncanny crafts during “Slightly Spooky Celebration” for all ages on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 – 11 a.m. Kids are highly encouraged to dress up and show off their sensational spooky or sparkly costume! Registration is required, and you’ll need email to receive login information. You can sign up at www.scld.org/slightly-spooky.
