Cheney Food Bank could use goods, donations

Letter to the Editor

The Cheney Food Bank – your community food bank to help those in need – is open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the first four Wednesdays of the month. During the months of January-March, we served 316 households totaling 681 people.

Currently, there is need for high protein foods such as peanut butter, canned tuna, and chili.

We are grateful for those who call us (235-2325) to ask about donations (dry goods and/or monetary). Monetary donations are most appreciated since they allow us to purchase needed food. If you have a monetary donation, it can be mailed to Cheney Food Bank, P.O. Box 614, Cheney WA 99004, or dropped off during open hours on Wednesdays.

First time visitors will need to visit Cheney Outreach (509-235-8900) prior to receiving food from the Cheney Food Bank.

The Cheney Food Bank is run by an entirely volunteer staff, who all thank you for caring support of the mission of the food bank.

Jerry Stewart

Cheney Food Bank Director
