SPOKANE -- Spokane County officials are taking further steps to protect its employees and the public during the COVID-19 outbreak by limiting access to the fourth floor of the Public Works Building until further notice. The fourth floor is the location for the Environmental Services Department, including Sewer Billing and the Regional Solid Waste System.

According to a March 18 news release, sewer bills are due by Wednesday, March 25. County officials are asking residents to make their payments by phone, mail or online, but if any in-person trip is necessary, use other measures to pay their bill.

"If you need to make your sewer payment in person – please use the dropboxes that are available in the County Courthouse," Public Works information and outreach manager Martha Lou Wheatley-Billeter wrote in the email. "One location is just inside the main entrance to the Courthouse and the other is in the Treasurer’s Office.

Monthly sewer charges can be paid by telephone using the resident's bank account, debit card or credit card. Call 1-866-315-6352 for more information. Online payments can be done through a credit or debit card at http://www.spokanecounty.org/es.

To pay by mail, please submit payment stubs (along with a check or money order) payable to Spokane County Environmental Services to P.O. Box 2355, Spokane, WA 99210-2355. Please do not mail cash.

Those needing assistance with sewer design plans are encouraged to call 509-477-3604 to make an appointment. Walk-in traffic may come to the fourth floor and they will be served one-at-a-time.Consequently, this may result in a waiting line.
