Medical Lake Kiwanis Senior Citizen Dinner Feb. 15

Entertainment by Eyer Family Band at annual event naming the Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year

MEDICAL LAKE – Food, fiddles and fun will be the order of the day at the Medical Lake Kiwanis Club’s annual Senior Citizen Valentine’s Day Dinner, taking place Saturday, Feb. 15.

A traditional turkey dinner will be served beginning at noon at Saint Anne’s Church’s parish hall, located on the corner of Lake and Prentis streets. The event is free to all Medical Lake-area senior citizens and will feature door prizes and the announcement and honoring of the 2019 Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year.

Entertainment will be provided by the Spokane-area Eyer Family Band, with husband and wife Carey Eyer and Lara Hemingway on guitars and featuring 8-year-old Ivy Eyer on accordion and 11-year-old Neilia Eyer on fiddle. Carey Eyer said the band, which has performed at Medical Lake’s Founder’s Day and many other area venues, plays folk and children’s music along with some bluegrass.

“They’re really the leaders of the band,” he said of Ivy and Neilia. “It’s just fun, family stuff and we’re looking forward to the dinner.”

For more information on the dinner, call 509-299-5478 or 509-995-1099. The dinner is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Medical Lake.
