Road conditions prompt school delays

WEST PLAINS -- Cheney and Medical Lake school officials have announced a two-hour delay to the start of classes today due to road conditions caused by last night's snowfall.

Cheney School District buses will run exactly two hours late today, Jan. 13. Medical Lake officials announced there will be no morning or afternoon skills center buses and no zero hour classes at the high school.

Morning activities through Medical Lake Parks and Recreation and pre-school at Hallett Elementary are also cancelled.

Eastern Washington University will be open for classes today. Officials are asking everyone to use caution if driving and give yourself plenty of time to get to campus.

Other area school districts delaying classes include:

Christian Heritage in Edwall, two hours

Liberty in Spangle, high school classes begin at 10:05 a.m.; elementary and middle school classes start at 10:05 a.m.

Tekoa, two hours
