Blackhawks boys' runners take second at regionals

COWICHE – The Cheney High School boys’ cross country team continues to up their game as the state meet approaches. The Blackhawks earned their first District 7 title since 2015 in competition at Mead High School on Oct. 26, and last Saturday turned in their highest finish at regional competition with the Central Washington Athletic Conference since that same year.

Cheney finished second, trailing on 2A third-ranked Ellensburg 61-75. The Blackhawks outscored seventh-ranked Selah and ninth-ranked and fellow Great Northern League rival Pullman, beating the Vikings 75-98 and the Greyhounds 75-108....
