Medical Lake interchange detour planned this week

The Washington State Department of Transportation will be detouring traffic from Interstate 90 through the Medical Lake interchange ramps between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 7 – 8 while precast bridge girders are sent on newly constructed bridge abutments over the interstate, according to the projects schedule.

Freeway traffic will be diverted through the westbound interchange ramps on the evening of Nov. 7, while the eastbound lanes of the freeway will remain open, according to WSDOT spokesperson Beth Bousley. The process shifts the following night, with the westbound freeway lanes remaining open, and eastbound traffic being diverted through the interchange’s eastbound ramps the night of Nov. 8.
