CHENEY

Oct. 21

Fourth-degree assault was reported on the 400 block of Elm Street.

Trespassing was reported on the 2300 block of 1st Street.

Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 500 block of 4th Street. A gray 2004 Honda Acura was taken. It was later recovered after a crash on Oct. 21 in Spokane.

Oct. 22

Confiscated property was reported on the 400 block of North 6th Street. A vaping device was taken.

Shawn S. Struck, 49, was arrested on the 800 block of West 1st Street on a Department of Corrections felony escape warrant.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 1000 block of West 1st Street.

Oct. 23

A mental health issue was reported on the 200 block of 1st Street. Subject was involuntarily committed.

An abandoned auto was reported on the 1500 block of 2nd Street. A blue, 1985 Volvo was impounded.

Malicious harassment was reported on the 2500 block of North 6th Street.

A backpack was found on the 200 block of West 2nd Street.

Oct. 24

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 200 block of F Street. Graffiti was reported.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the zero hundred block of 1st Street. Two vehicle windshields were broken.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of North 6th Street. Cash was taken from a purse in a restroom at Cheney High School.

A 15-year-old female reported to high school officials that she was having problems at home and accused her boyfriend of being abusive.

A 14-year-old female was arrested for possession of marijuana at the high school.

A student at the high school reported her computer had been remotely hacked, with threatening messages and demand for money received.

Oct. 25

Police are investigating a report of indecent liberties between a 14-year-old male and an 11-year-old female at the high school.

Justin J. Smith, 18, was arrested at the high school for possession of a vaping machine that used cannabis oil that contained 90 percent THC.

Third-degree theft/shoplifting of alcohol was reported on the 2700 block of 1st Street.

Brenden L. Brown, 20, was arrested on the 1000 block of Betz Road for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).

Oct. 26

A vehicle operating without headlights at night was reported on the 200 block of 1st Street, leading to the arrest of Emson Eukenio, 22, for driving under the influence.

Jesus Munoz, 20, was arrested on the 1500 block of Washington Street for third-degree DWLS.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 800 block of Cedar Street. A swastika was scraped into a vehicle’s paint.

A mental health issue was reported on the zero hundred block of 1st Street. Subject was voluntarily committed.

A driver’s license was turned into the police station.

Third-degree theft/shoplifting of alcohol was reported on the 2700 block of 1st Street.

Carlos D. Valero, 20, was arrested on the 1000 block of Betz Road for malicious mischief/domestic violence. Additional charges for assault and burglary are pending.

Harassment was reported on the 500 block of West 1st Street.

Oct. 27

A driver’s license was found on the 500 block of 1st Street.

Attempted theft was reported on the 2700 block of 1st Street. An individual attempted to leave Safeway with a backpack containing alcohol, but was tackled by a bystander in the parking lot.

James R. McCormick was arrested on three Cheney misdemeanor warrants at the police station.

Oct. 28

A 14-year-old male was suspended from the high school for noncompliance.

A 14-year-old female was arrested at the high school for harassment/making threats to shoot up the school. The subject was referred for mental evaluation.

Children reported a domestic violence incident to a school counselor that took place between their mother and father on the 300 block of Erie Street. James C. Mize, 26, was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

A driver’s license was found on the zero hundred block of G Street. License was returned to the owner.

Second-degree burglary was reported on the zero hundred block of Betz Road. A wallet and set of keys were taken from a residence that the occupants believe was watched by the suspect, who then entered through an unlocked front door.

Oct. 29

A female threatened violence with a gun to an individual involved in impounding her vehicle on the 100 block of Blackhawk Lane. Incident is under investigation.

MEDICAL LAKE

Oct. 22

Deputies conducted a prowl check on the 1300 block of South Lefevre Street.

Deputies served civil papers on the 300 block of North Broad Street.

Reckless driving or road rage was reported near South Clear Lake and South Salnave roads.

Oct. 23

Deputies responded to reports of an argument on the 700 block of South Jefferson Street.

Assault was reported on the 800 block of Maple Street.

Oct. 24

Deputies responded to a reported garage burglary on the 200 block of North Prentis Street.

Deputies made a warrant arrest on the 300 block of East Fellows Street.

An argument was reported on the 700 block of East Tara Lee Avenue

Oct. 25

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person near South Washington and East Lake streets.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence protection order violation on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

Deputies responded, and medics were called to area near East Lake and North Grant streets.

Assault was reported on the 2300 block of South Salnave Road.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence protection order violation on the 400 block of South Hallett Street.

Assault was reported on the 800 block of Maple Street.

Fire was reported on the 500 block of East Campbell Street.

Oct. 26

Suspicious circumstances were reported near East Lake and North Walker streets.

Deputies made contact with a person with mental issues on the 500 block of East Grace Street.

Reckless driving or road rage was reported on the 300 block of South Hallett Street.

A residential burglary was reported on the 1100 block of North William Street.

An animal or wildlife issue was reported near North Washington and East Barker streets.

Oct. 27

Property was found on the 1300 block of South Lefevre Street.

Oct. 28

Deputies responded to noise complaints on the 900 block of East Campbell Street.

Deputies made a warrant arrest after responding to reports of suspicious circumstances on the 200 block of North Prentis Street.

A suicide attempt was reported on the 200 block of East Barker Street.

Assault was reported on the 800 block of Maple Street.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on the 1000 block of East Stanley Drive.

An animal or wildlife problem was reported on the 200 block of East Barker Street.

Abuse was reported on the 2300 block of South Salnave Road.

Officers took a report of a vehicle recovery at North Astor Street and East Sharp Avenue.

Officers took a report of a theft on the 12500 block of West Highway 2.

Oct. 24

Officers took a report of a vehicle prowling on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

Officers took a report of an argument on the 2000 block of South Craig Road.

Officers took a report of a domestic violence order of protection violation on the 800 block of South Garfield Road.

Officers took a report of disorderly conduct on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.
