Man killed in state Highway 902 crash near Medical Lake

MEDICAL LAKE — A Marshall resident was killed Tuesday evening, Oct. 22, in a crash near the intersection of South Keene Road and state Highway 902.

The Washington State Patrol has identified the victim as 55-year-old Clay E. Randall.

At 6:57 p.m., Randall was driving a maroon and gold 1991 Dodge Dakota eastbound on state Highway 902 approximately two miles east of the city when the vehicle left the road to the right, the patrol reported.

The truck crossed the highway to the north after Randall over-corrected, causing the vehicle to overturn, coming to rest upside down in the ditch on the north side of the highway, the patrol reported.

Randall, who was partially ejected from the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. Officials have notified his next of kin.

Randall was not wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said, noting it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
