Medical Lake interchange reopens

The Medical Lake interchange has been re-opened on schedule, according to Washington State Department of Transportation officials.

In an email Wednesday night, Project Engineer Mark Allen announced the opening, effective at 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

Geiger Boulevard east of the interchanges northern roundabout to Hayford Road remains closed while Spokane County works to complete its Geiger Boulevard Improvement project, which was scheduled to this week. A power outage Tuesday night affected the projects asphalt plant, according to Allen. It will be a few days before the asphalt plant is running again, he said.

The north half of the interchange was closed on Sept. 30 to allow contractors to catch up on project schedule resulting from utility delays.
