Sixth District representative hold Oct. 2 town hall in Airway Heights

Washington 6th Legislative District Rep. Jenny Graham is hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Airway Heights Recreation Center, 11405 W. Deno Road. Citizens concerned about public safety, drug abuse, property crimes and homelessness will have an opportunity to express their concerns at an upcoming community town hall.

“One of the most pressing issues in our region is the ongoing homelessness, drug and crime epidemic. I've met with law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders, toured the jails, met with homelessness advocates, and had conversations with many individuals, families and business owners,” Graham, R-Spokane, said in a Sept. 27 news release. “But I want to continue those conversations in a broader, more inclusive way. Hosting a criminal justice and homelessness town hall meeting allows the community to hear from elected officials, advocates and law enforcement, and allows the people a chance to voice their opinions.

“I know people are frustrated, and rightly so,” continued Graham. “Homelessness affects all of us. We've seen what this epidemic has done to other cities. We need solutions to ensure Spokane doesn't follow the wrong path on this crucial issue.”

Graham specifically represents the 6th District, however, she said she is inviting all citizens from the greater Spokane region to attend and share their stories, frustrations, concerns and solutions.
