Cheney Congregational Church

Pastor Matt Goodale will deliver the message Sunday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. You are invited to join us. Hearing assistance is available.

We are located at 423 N 6th St., across the street from the high school parking lot. We will gather in the fellowship hall following the service for a “Church Dream Session,” where Goodale and the congregation will share hopes and dreams for Cheney Congregational Church. Plan to join us for this special session.

Special music selections have been enjoyed all summer, however, our choir will soon be back from summer break. Rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. If you like to sing, please report for choir practice, even if you’ve never been to our church before. All singers are invited and appreciated.

“Lunch Bunch” meets at noon on Thursday, Sept 12, for a potluck in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish to share and join the fellowship. Women’s fellowship will meet on Sunday, Sept 15, at noon.

Church office hours are 9 a.m. – noon Mondays, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesdays, and 1 – 4 p.m. Thursdays. Goodale is also available by appointment on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to attend our “GIFT” intergenerational Sunday school and worship service for all ages beginning at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Sept 8. We also acknowledge “Rally Day” today, which marks the beginning of the school year. Following worship there will be the coffee hour followed by our annual community service project “God’s Work, Our Hands” event. We will end the day with a potluck lunch. Anyone is encouraged to attend!

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this outreach ministry to our neighbors in need.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. Holy Eucharist begins at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

We wish all students a wonderful new school year coming soon.

The ELM program is soon to resume come the fall.

Our community vegetable garden continues to ripen and grow, offering healthy food to the Cheney Food Bank each week throughout the season.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at ll:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Worship with us Sunday morning at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Pat Sleeth will be preaching and will continue a sermon series on welcoming the children. Please join us.

A multi-age Sunday school class begins Sept. 8 as well as an adult Bible school class studying the book “Simon Peter,” by Adam Hamilton. Classes begin at 9 a.m.

Sunday evening the UMC adult fellowship group will “kick off” the year with a tailgate themed potluck at the church at 6 p.m. Brats will be provided so bring your favorite tailgate dish to share, wear your favorite team T-shirt and join in the fellowship.
