West Plains Support Network meetings focus on helping struggling children

The West Plains Support Network will be hosting a series of meetings focused on the struggles children in our area are facing, and highlighting resources available to meet their needs. The meetings are open to everyone, especially those who care for children so they can be better prepared to help the children around them.

The meetings will be as follows:

Caring for our Kids: Real Life Struggles — Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.  Cheney City Hall at 609 2nd St. This meeting will present eye-opening information on the pressures and challenges children are facing every day.

Presenters will share real stories from the lives of children in our area and bring awareness to the realities of life facing children.

Caring for our Kids: Analyzing the data — Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Medical Lake City Hall conference room, 124 S. Lefevre St.

In this meeting a panel of presenters will share data from the “Healthy Youth Survey” and other sources that reveal the staggering numbers of children who are struggling with addiction, mental health issues and much more.

Caring for our Kids: Finding Solutions — Wednesday, Nov. 6, from from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Airway Heights Recreation Center, 11405 W. Deno Road.

The final meeting in this series will focus on resources available to help children and families.
