Cardinals rout Newport in NEA track and field

The Medical Lake High School track and field teams had little trouble with Newport in the team’s third Northeast A League meet of the season. The Cardinal boys downed the visitors 104-26 while the girls dispatched their counterparts 121-11 on a sun-drenched day in Medical Lake.

“We had many PRs (personal records); 27 boys PR’d and 18 girls,” head coach Gene Blankenship said in an email. “We had several athletes win more than one event.”
