The Cheney boys soccer team faced off against Pullman April 2, winning 2-1 in a — you guessed it — penalty shootout.

Pullman (2-7, 2-2) scored an early goal in the third minute of the first half with Cheney’s Sam Fix making a goal for the Blackhawks in the second half’s 70th minute.

Cheney (6-2, 5-0) took 15 shots to Pullman’s 14, with Blackhawk goalkeeper Trae Babcock making 11 saves to the Pullman goalkeeper’s four.

Cheney edged out the Greyhounds, continuing its pattern of winning by penalty shootout.

The team’s April 4 game against East Valley and has yet to be rescheduled. The Blackhawks played Clarkston April 9 and compete against West Valley April 11.
