Blackhawks control Connell Instant Invite

Cheney High’s boys and girls track and field teams traveled to Connell last Friday, March 29, to compete in the Connell Instant Invite.

Both Blackhawks came away with victories in the nine-school field, that included 2A schools Grandview and East Valley (Yakima) out of the Central Washington Athletic Conference. The boys easily out-pointed host Connell, 175-112.5 for the win while the girls did the same, taking first by a 160-119 margin.

Cheney had 36 athletes set new personal records (PRs), 19 by the boys and 17 from the girls, along with several season-best marks.
