Card girls smash Omak on the home hardwood

It took four minutes for the visiting Caribou League Omak Pioneers (8-4, 14-9) to even get on the board against the Medical Lake girls’ “Red Crush” defense in a one-sided 59-33 victory on Saturday in post-season playoff action.

The victory was led by 5-foot-8-inch Lexie Redell, who singlehandedly kept the Card offense scoring points at the start until Jaycee Oliver decided she wanted some of the action and hit a 3-pointer. Then the team’s first quarter shoot-fest began.

“Lexie was a beast,” head coach Kyle Lundberg said.

And with the exception of the second quarter, the Cards held the Pioneers...
