Cheney Little Guy wrestling fundraiser is a success

Letter to the Editor

Cheney Hawks Little Guys Wrestling Club just concluded their first-ever, two-weekend Christmas Tree recycling fundraiser, which has been deemed a great success. This would not have been possible without the generous support from our neighbors in Cheney and the surrounding area.

We were so grateful for every donation of trees and in awe of those folks who said they didn’t have a tree but donated to our cause anyway. Because of you, we are well on our way to purchasing much needed new singlets for the upcoming season. What a remarkable community we live in!

We would particularly like to thank Mayor Chris Grover and the Public Works Department for graciously supplying a dumpster in which to collect trees for recycling. This was critical to the success of our project.

We also want to send a special thank you to Yoke’s Fresh Market for letting us set up camp in the corner of their parking lot for two weekends. The location could not have been better.

We are proud of our wrestling families who braved the cold, snow, wet and wind for hours on end to help spread the word about our fundraiser. They are truly the cream of the crop. Hopefully you caught some sweet dance moves.

We plan to return next year, so please keep us in mind when thinking Christmas. We want your trees!
