Cheney Congregational Church

Our worship service on Sunday at 10 a.m. is open to everyone. This week’s sermon by pastor David Krueger-Duncan is a continuation of the series on “Taking Noah Seriously.” Following the service everyone is invited to enjoy coffee and conversation in the fellowship hall.

Our director Kate Francis holds choir practice Sundays at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. Consider lending your voice to our incredible choir. For more information call (509) 481-5234.

As many in the community know, our pastor will be retiring this summer. A pastoral search committee was formed at the Jan. 14 council meeting. The committee will be meeting a couple times a month as they work on finding a new pastor.

Our church has begun a free educational series entitled “Things I Learned Somewhere.” This series will cover a wide range of topics and is open to the community. It will be held the fourth Wednesday of the month. The next presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. Carl Schewnn will discuss Native American art and give specific information on several pieces located in our sanctuary. Plan to stay for coffee, cookies and conversation following the presentation.

Our annual church meeting will be Sunday, Jan. 27 following services. The new church council will be elected. Women’s fellowship will meet immediately after the annual meeting to elect new officers. Please mark your calendars for these important meetings.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

All are welcome to worship with us this Sunday, Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m. Fellowship hour follows the worship service along with our annual budget meeting.

Adult education will meet before service at 9 a.m.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Emmanuel thanks you for your continued support of this ministry.

Heritage Baptist Church

Heritage Baptist Church invites you to share a time of worship Sunday morning beginning at 11:11 a.m. and Sunday evening at 6:06 p.m.

On Jan. 21, we will begin a weekly lunch study overview of the Bible. We will meet Mondays from noon – 1 p.m. You may call 342-6038 for more information and registration. Lunch will be provided for registered students on Jan. 21. The first class will be an overview of Genesis. This class will be especially valuable for Sunday school and Bible study leaders.

We look forward to meeting with you.

United Methodist Church

Please worship with us this Sunday at the United Methodist Church. Pastor Alissa Bertsch will be preaching the second in a new sermon series on “Greater Gifts” as we continue to explore how we share Christ in the world. Sunday school classes precede worship at 9 a.m.

From our welcoming atmosphere and Holy Spirit-filled worship to our warm fellowship, you will find a place to belong at Cheney UMC.

You may call the church office for information on other worship and study opportunities.
