Churches

Cheney Congregational Church

Our worship service on Sunday at 10 a.m. is open to everyone. This week’s sermon by pastor David Krueger-Duncan is a continuation of the series on “Taking Noah Seriously.” Following the service everyone is invited to enjoy coffee and conversation in the fellowship hall.

Our director Kate Francis holds choir practice Sundays at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. Consider lending your voice to our incredible choir. For more information call (509) 481-5234.

As many in the community know, our pastor will be retiring this summer. A pastoral search committee was formed at the Jan. 14 council meeting. The committee will be meeting a couple times a month as they work on finding a new pastor.

Our church has begun a free educational series entitled “Things I Learned Somewhere.” This series will cover a wide range of topics and is open to the community. It will be held the fourth Wednesday of the month. The next presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. Carl Schewnn will discuss Native American art and give specific information on several pieces located in our sanctuary. Plan to stay for coffee, cookies and conversation following the presentation.

Our annual church meeting will be Sunday, Jan. 27 following services. The new church council will be elected. Women’s fellowship will meet immediately after the annual meeting to elect new officers. Please mark your calendars for these important meetings.
