EWU Africana Studies seeking auction items

The Eastern Washington University Africana Studies Program is hosting its annual silent auction, Feb. 28, and is looking for donations.

Donations may include art, books, crafts, gift baskets, gift cards, sporting and theater tickets. All proceeds from the event will help scholarships, the Richard Williams Graduation Celebration, Black History Month programs and other events.

Donors will receive recognition as their names will be listed on the Africana Studies website and newsletter, acknowledged on social media and displayed during the auction.

Feed Medical Lake to take place on Jan. 14

Feed Medical Lake will serve chicken ‘n’ dumplings, fruit salad and pie on Monday, Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St. There will be door prizes and a “creation station” for children. Groceries for the diners will be distributed, beginning 4:15 p.m.

“Soup, etc., Lunch Bunch” takes place on Monday, Jan. 28 at 11:30 a.m. Come for supper or come for lunch — it’s all free.
