Still reveling in last week’s decisive victory over Medical Lake, the Cheney High School wrestling team is looking forward to its league season with anticipation, hoping to beat East Valley’s team for the first time in nearly 30 years.
In the matchup against longtime rival Medical Lake on Dec. 17, Cheney came out on top, winning 54-18 and taking 10 out of 13 matches.
“Against Medical Lake last week we were really happy,” head coach Jason Connor said. “We were really impressed with how the guys responded.”
