Goats' ground game rolls

Last Friday's crossover football game between Medical Lake with visiting Chelan was seen as an opportunity for new faces to get real time experience.

And that's just how things played out at wind-blown and chilly Holliday Field where the Mountain Goats put on a running clinic in scoring a 49-6 win over the Cardinals.

While it was designed as a game where junior varsity players would have their opportunities, perhaps few figured they would have as many plays as they did when earlier in the week a group of seniors opted not to participate.

"We had multiple seniors decide they did not want to play in the crossover game for whatever reason," head coach Jeremy Bahr said. Seven seniors did suit up, however.
