On this day 100 years ago in 1918, over 100 cases of the Spanish Influenza were reported in Spokane County. City schools were closed and Cheney’s movie theater went dark. The Normal School remained open so that students would not carry the disease home or bring it back with their return. Learn more about our area’s history at http://www.cheneymuseum.org.
