Cheney girls fall to host Eagles in league cross country action

The Cheney High School boys cross country team got its Great Northern League schedule off to a good start with a 25-34 win over West Valley at Millwood Meadows last Wednesday. A young Blackhawk girls squad fell to the host Eagles in their 5,000-meter race, 20-37.

Cheney co-head coach Derek Slaughter said the Blackhawk boys won by the largest margin he’d ever seen against West Valley.

“Which is always fun when you do that against your rival,” he added.
