Sutton Park adds to reunion experience

Letter to the Editor

The venue for our recent Craner family reunion was our Cheney Sutton Park, the crown jewel of the municipal parks of Cheney.

We had a total of 83 attendees, family and friends from as far away as Kansas and the west coast of Washington, plus one dog on a leash, as per park regulations.

Our potluck and get-together was enjoyed by all, especially enjoyed by the families with young children who reveled in playing on the ample playground equipment afforded by the park.

This was our second annual reunion in Sutton Park, and we are already planning for next year’s function.

We want to thank the city of Cheney, especially the par department administration and park staff. Our guests loved the park and feel those of us who live in Cheney are blessed to have a whole city block (complete with picnic shelter, gazebo, playground equipment, clean restrooms and stately Ponderosa pine trees) as a park to enjoy the year round.

We agree. Thank you, city of Cheney!

Merle and Joanne Craner
