Lt. Col. James A. Hayes, U.S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Army War College at historic Carlisle Barracks, Pa., having earned a master’s degree in strategic studies on June 8, 2018.

Hayes is from St. Maries, Idaho, with relatives currently living in Hayden, Idaho (brother and his family), Cheney, Wash. (mother) and Bothell, Wash. (mother/father in-laws).

He will next serve as the director for operations, special operations command – Korea in Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea.

During the 10-month graduate studies, Hayes completed a strategy research project about “Game On or Game Over: U.S. – China Competition.”

The U.S. Army War College’s curriculum educates and develops senior military officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, as well as senior foreign military officers and civilian officials from a variety of federal agencies, to serve in strategic level command and staff positions worldwide.
