Winifred "Freddie" Dorothy Rosen

Winifred "Freddie" Dorothy Rosen passed away from a stroke on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Spokane. Freddie was born on Sept. 30, 1925 in Kansas City, Kan. as the fourth oldest child of six sisters, three half-brothers and two half-sisters, children to Jacob James Turley and Cordia Magdalene Byerly of Kansas City, Kan.

She proposed to and married the love of her life, Edwin Ronald Rosen, on Sept. 5, 1947. Freddie was a steadfast, loving military wife following her husband to Germany and various Navy and Air Force bases around the country and bearing five children along the way before settling in Cheney.

Freddie loved gardening, garage sales, collecting cookie jars, canning, baking delicious pies, picking huckleberries, playing cards with the ladies and was well known in the Cheney community.

Freddie is survived by her husband of 70 years Ed Rosen, her children; John (Billie) Rosen, Olympia Wash.; Lynn (Bruce) Hand, Millville N.J.; Maria (Gary) Ware, Cheney and Michelle (Norm) LeBret, Loon Lake, Wash.; her younger sister Dorothy Dinwiddie, Tampa, Fla., 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and one great,-great-grandchild on the way. She is predeceased by her daughter Cathy (Glenn) Swedelius.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 27.
