Outdoor learning

Cheney Middle School seventh-graders got a chance to learn a little hands-on ecology on April 27 during an outdoor education field trip to some private property located on Curtis Road outside Cheney. The students planted trees to help restore the ecosystem around the area last fall. This time they studied pond ecology in small groups with students and instructors from Eastern Washington University as well as officials from Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge.
