Airway Heights seeks center money

City Council holds public hearing on applications to state for additional funding

A public hearing was held at the Airway Heights April 16 City Council meeting on proposed grant applications to the state Recreation and Conservation Office for improvements to the future recreation center. The organizations included are the grants wildlife recreation and the athletic faculties programs.

According to JC Kennedy, parks, recreation and community services director, the goal is to use these grants is to help improve the multi-purpose baseball and softball fields at the center. The funds would help add fencing, dugouts and 85 parking spots.
