Airway Heights store needs 4,000 Facebook likes to extend military discount to every day.

Grocery Outlet in Airway Heights is currently offering a military discount on Mondays for all active and retired military families and veterans. But Dylan and Tanja Hartung are hoping to offer it every day soon.

The store is running a contest on their Facebook page to reach 4,000 likes and once they achieve that mark, they will offer the discount every day.

"This contest isn't just reserved for military to help promote the Facebook page, but really is for anyone who is willing to help," Dylan Hartung said. "The way we have had success with promotions like this in the past is to get some help behind it by people posting something on their Facebook page stating what it is, how easy it is to do and what will be the benefit."

The Facebook page has around 1,400 likes right now and the company has been trying to encourage more people to like it by promoting it all over. On the first day of the contest, about 50 more likes were received.

Dylan and Tanja Hartung are the owners of the West Plains location after moving from Portland, Ore., to Airway Heights one and half years ago to open up the store in the area. Both have been involved with Grocery Outlet for two years but have been in the business for a long time.

The Grocery Outlet in Airway Heights varies from other locations as every store is owned and operated by different people. Not every location is offering this military discount opportunity for the community.
