Cheney Congregational Church

We invite everyone to be with us for an hour on Sunday. We are a community of seekers and welcome people in all stages of spiritual journey and all diversities of life value. Hear a thoughtful and well-reasoned teaching by the Rev. David Krueger-Duncan as he continues exploring violence in American society, particularly in our schools. Enjoy our excellent choir and please stay after for coffee, refreshments and conversation. You will feel welcomed.

Men’s breakfast will start at 7:45 a.m. on March 11 at the Marketplace Bakery & Deli where all men are welcome to a friendly and wide-ranging conversation. Please come and join the “Lunch Bunch” in the fellowship hall at noon on March 8 for good food and conversation.

A music performance will take place at 4 p.m. on March 15 by Lisa Neher, a mezzo-soprano and composer based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, followed by master’s classes. Also, the EWU Concert Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. on March 19 with the program with the opportunity for digital dialog between the choir and audience.

Four Lakes Community Church

We are a non-denominational Village Missions Church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to educate and edify the saints and evangelize the lost. All are welcome.

Our upcoming sermon will be by pastor Sean Carney on Genesis 3:1-20 entitled “Temptation and Sin.” Our worship services combine contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.

Join us for Tuesday women’s Bible study, Wednesday music practice, Thursday AWANA all at 6:30 p.m. and Friday men’s breakfast and Bible study at 7 a.m.

Heritage Baptist Church

We seek to answer the question: “What does the Bible Say” about the situations which surround us every day.

We wanted to let you know that we will be having a special early morning service on Easter. The service will begin at 8:08 a.m. at the church. It will be less formal and shorter. You may call for more information. We do accept texts or email.

You can also check our Facebook page, heritagebaptistchurchofcheney, for daily scripture or comments.

Just a reminder, our clocks will change at 2 a.m. Sunday morning. We will be springing forward one hour. God Bless.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit. The Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

The Lenten soup/study, “Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John,” has sessions running every Wednesday through March 21 in the parish hall. For further information call Susan Durrie at (509) 235-4273.

Attention all college students: The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry, ELM, meets each Monday at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship, and invites all college students to join us. For more information contact Soule at (509) 844-2553.

Choir practice is every Thursday at 6:15 p.m., continuing under the direction of Alexandra Rannow. Please come and sing with us.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

For your contemplation: “If it is true that God in Jesus Christ is waiting for our response to divine love, then we can discover a whole new perspective on how to wait in life. We can learn to be obedient people who do not always try to go back to the action but who recognize the fulfillment of our deepest humanity in passion, in waiting. If we can do this, I am convinced that we will come in touch with the glory of God and our own new life.” — Henri J.M. Nouwen.

United Methodist Church

The fourth Sunday of Lent will be observed this week at the United Methodist Church. Pastors Alissa Bertsch and Pat Sleeth will continue the Lenten sermon series based on the Rev. Mike Slaughter’s book,” Made for a Miracle.” The theme this Sunday is “Activate the Power of Faith.” Please be our guest on this journey toward Easter.

A multi-age Sunday school class precedes worship at 9 a.m. for elementary and middle school aged students.

Sunday evening the adult fellowship will meet at the home of Julie Peck. The potluck gathering begins at 6 p.m. Dessert and French bread will be provided so please bring a salad or main dish to share and enjoy this time of fellowship.

There is a weekly soup supper and Lenten study each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the church. This study is also based on the book, “Made for a Miracle.”
