Miss Cheney Rodeo coronation banquet tickets available
The 51st annual Miss Cheney Rodeo coronation is taking place Saturday, March 10 at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute in Spokane. The coronation of Miss Cheney Rodeo Kaleigh Driver, along with dinner and fundraising auction, runs from 5:30–9 p.m. at the Institute’s Tsutakawa Memorial Hall/Commons Building, 4000 West Randolph Road.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for auction viewing, with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a silent and live auction. Tickets are available online at squareup.com/store/Cheney Rodeo.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for children and free for children under age 5. Table sponsorships of $225 are available, and include dinner and auction tickets for eight with sponsors name presented on the table.
Ice Age Floods chapter holds Palouse hike
The Cheney-Spokane chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute is holding its annual Palouse Canyon hike on Saturday, March 10. According to an Institute Feb. 26 news release, Lloyd Stoess and Gene Kiver are leaders for this eight-mile hike up Palouse Canyon to Palouse Falls emphasizing the Ice Age Floods story and local Native American and settlement history.
The hike begins promptly at 9 a.m. at Lyons Ferry State Park Fish Hatchery and concludes about six hours later at Palouse Falls. Vehicles will shuttle hikers back to the hatchery.
To take part, hikers should be in good physical shape, i.e., be able to hike three miles without breaks.
