Science, technology and sport collide for FIRST Robotics kickoff at Eastern Washington University

Eastern Washington University will host 100 high school students from around the region for the annual kickoff of the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), 8–10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, in the lobby of EWU’s Computing and Engineering Building.

This inspiring competition combines the excitement of sport with rigors of science and technology. It is part of an international program created by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which aims to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
