CHENEY
Dec. 11
Third-degree theft was reported at Cheney High School. Two cellphones were taken, but later recovered.
A suspicious powdery substance was found on the 700 block of West First Street.
Police assisted Child Protective Services on a report on the 700 block of Villard. CPS required assistance in locating an individual who had lived at that address in 2006. The individual was located in Oregon, and report transferred to the Oregon State Patrol.
Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 2200 block of First Street.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 2600 block of First Street. A wallet and a radar detector were taken from a vehicle.
Dec. 12
Police assisted Frontier Mental Health on a involuntary committal on the 100 block of Betz Road.
A mental health issue was reported on the 700 block of West First Street. Voluntary committal.
Fourth-degree assault was reported on the zero hundred block of West First Street.
Financial fraud was reported on the 100 block of Pineview Place. Fraud was a jury duty scam.
Harassment was reported on the 100 block of F Street.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 700 block of Seventh Street. GPS and pliers were taken from a vehicle.
Dec. 13
Theft of a vehicle was reported on the zero hundred block of West Third Street. Vehicle was recovered on Dec. 14.
Scott A. Larieau, 55, was arrested on the 1600 block of Washington Street for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS).
Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 200 block of Buena Vista. An unknown woman barged into the resident’s home.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of Short Street. A Kindle was taken.
A cellphone was reported lost on the zero hundred block of Washington Court.
Rape was reported on the 2400 block of University Lane.
Disorderly conduct was reported on the 300 block of West First Street.
Dec. 14
Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 2400 block of University Lane. A black Jeep Cherokee was taken.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. CDs, prescription medication and a tool kit were taken from a vehicle.
A 14-year-old female was arrested at Cheney High School for possession of marijuana.
A student set off a large firework on the playground of Sunset Elementary School in Airway Heights. Student is too young to charge, and the incident will be handled by school officials.
Residential burglary was reported on the 300 block of Vine Street. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
Second-degree theft was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. A backpack and its contents were taken from a vehicle.
Residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
Dec. 15
Third-degree theft was reported on the zero hundred block of Second Street. A bicycle was taken.
Dan L. Foutch, 67, was arrested on the 200 block of West First Street for a hit and run attended collision.
Second-degree theft was reported on the 1400 block of Fourth Street. A bicycle was taken.
Dec. 16
An accident involving a pedestrian was reported on the 100 block of Alki Street. A person lying in the road was struck by a SUV, the driver of which saw the victim but was unable to stop due to snow conditions. The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Dec. 17
Trespassing was reported on the 300 block of Buena Vista.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 300 block of North Eleventh Street.

Dec. 12
A suspicious vehicle was reported on the 1300 block of South Lefevre Street.
Officer responded to the report of an abandoned vehicle on the 1000 block of North Prentis Street.
Officer investigated a noise complaint on the 700 block of East Kathe Lee Avenue.
A suspicious person was reported on the 1300 block of South Lefevre Street.
