The halftime locker room talk head coach Lorin Carlon gave his Cheney High girls basketball last Friday against West Valley kept the Lady Blackhawks from warming up for the final 16 minutes - and almost earned them a technical foul for coming out late.
It was a necessity, Carlon said.
"I hadn't done this before in Cheney, but I'm going to see if I can really, really make them mad," he said Monday morning.
Carlon didn't insult his players, but rather challenged them to make the visiting Eagles play Cheney's game rather than vice versa. It worked.
