Airway Heights Winter Festival is quickly approaching

The holidays are on the horizon and the city of Airway Heights is prepared with something for the whole community. On Dec. 2, the community will be hosting the annual Winter Festival with events throughout the day for the family.

"The Winter Festival is a fun all day community event, filled with family friendly activities," Andy Gardner, the parks, recreation and community services supervisor said.

The day begins with a pancake breakfast at the Community Center located at 13120 West 13th Ave. from 8:30 – 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by Yoke's and people need to bring their own camera for a picture with Santa.

Next door at the Airway Heights Library, there will be a "Winter Storytime" featuring crafts and face painting from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

The next event up is a coloring contest with the Sunset PTO at the elementary school along with classic holiday movies from 1 – 3 p.m.

Capping the day will be the community tree lighting from 6 – 8 p.m. There will also be a bonfire and holiday carols at Sunset Park afterwards.

All events are free and open to the community, with donations being accepted at the breakfast.
