Stan Plester

Stan Plester took his last Corvette ride on Oct. 28, 2017, in Spokane, Wash. as the result of cardiac arrest. Stan was born to Orvil and Goldie Plester on May 13, 1948, in The Dalles, Ore. Life and luck brought him to Kennewick, Wash., where he graduated from Kennewick High School before joining the U.S. Air Force.

From an early age, he was enamored with cars, starting with working in his dad's automotive machine shop. He then progressed to working on his own hot rods. After the Air Force, he started his 45-year career in auto sales at Osborne Chevrolet in the Tri-Cities followed by sales positions at Camp Chevrolet and Anderberg Chevrolet. He then started his own auto sales businesses – Cheney Auto Mall and Oldies But Goodies.

Stan loved boating, good whiskey, great old-time rock n' roll, his friends from as far back as grade school and vacations at Priest Lake and Arizona. He was blessed with daughters, Debbie Slocum (Steve) and Andrea Schouviller (Chuck); sons Todd Showalter (Vanessa) and Kevin Showalter (Jennifer) and an abundance of grandkids: Alissa and Justin Slocum; Jamison, Cory and Ashlynn Schouviller; Tori Showalter; and Janie and Henry Showalter. He felt most blessed by the love of his wife of 37 years, Jan.

Truly gone too soon but our memories will remain. Services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Washington State Veterans' Cemetary. The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
