County library presents documentary about race and United States prison boom

The Spokane County Library District is hosting viewings and discussions of the award-winning documentary “13TH” from director Ava DuVernay and Netflix.

According to a district news release, the United States leads the world in incarceration. In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom.
