Cheney swimming trounces Selah 117-48 in Yakima

Cheney High’s girls swimming team coasted to a 117-48 win over host Selah in dual-meet action last Thursday at Lion’s Pool in Yakima. The Blackhawks won nine of 11 events, including three events in which they nabbed the top three places.

Courtney Hanson and Isabella Williams each collected a pair of first-place finishes. Hanson won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 37.20 seconds, with Evarosa Perry second, and also the 100 freestyle in 1:13.57, Hope Zaragoza just over three seconds behind in second.
